Summary

This chapter has introduced the most significant agricultural water resource problems currently facing the United States. A variety of issues related to agricultural water source, use, and discharge were presented, along with supporting data to quantify the relative importance of each. Having established the context and background for each problem, this technology assessment next examines selected impacts resulting from these problems.
